Annual travelcard

The Arcobaleno annual travelcard is the low-cost solution for adults who regularly travel more than 8 months a year on public transport and for young persons who regularly travel more than 6 months a year on public transport.

With the Arcobaleno annual travelcard you can travel conveniently and inexpensively for a whole year within the selected zones and with all modes of transport on the Arcobaleno integrated fare network. In this way, you do not have to think about tickets for every journey.

The travelcard is also personal. It can be issued for adults (from 25 years) in 1st or 2nd class, as well as for young persons (from 6 to 25 years) in 2nd class, and is valid for the selected zones. From 6 zones, you can travel throughout Ticino and in the Moesano region at a flat-rate price. With the annual travelcard, adults travel for 12 months at the price for 9 months, and young persons travel for 12 months at the price for 7 months.

You can purchase a monthly travelcard at any time (the date can be selected freely). The start of validity does not have to coincide with the first day of the month.

The monthly travelcard is personal. When purchasing, a passport photo is required, which is used for both the paper format or on the SwissPass.

Where and how to purchase

The annual travelcard is personal and is loaded onto the SwissPass (red card in credit card format) and a passport photo is obligatory.

It can be issued initially at an authorised sales counter. The travelcard can also be purchased by telephone on the following numbers: PostBus, advice and sales on 0840 852 852 or via the SBB Contact Center, advice and sales, 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min., 24 hours); payment by credit card.

Renewal

Class upgrade

If you have a ticket or travelcard for 2nd class, you can travel in 1st class by purchasing a class upgrade. Both tickets must be shown at the ticket check.

Reduced fares are available for under 16 (last day before birthday) for tickets and for under 25s (last day before birthday)for passes. Young Arcobaleno

Frequent questions

I have lost my annual travelcard or it was stolen. What should I do?

Firstly, the incident must be reported to the local or cantonal police. You should then go to the sales counter where you purchased the annual travelcard with the sales receipt and a personal ID. For a payment of CHF 30, a new travelcard will be sent to your home address within 10 days. You will receive a so-called temporary travelcard for the interim period.

NOTE: an annual travelcard can only be replaced twice at the most if lost or stolen.

If the monthly travelcard is loaded on the SwissPass, the card can be replaced after paying a fee of CHF 30, according to T600 clause 200.1.

My annual travelcard is damaged. What should I do?

You should go to the sales counter where you purchased the annual travelcard with the damaged travelcard and a personal ID. After paying a fee of CHF 30, a new travelcard will be sent to your home address within 10 days. You will receive a so-called temporary travelcard for the interim period. The travelcard can be replaced multiple times.

If the monthly travelcard is loaded on the SwissPass, the card can be replaced as often as needed after paying the respective fee of CHF 30, according to T600 clause 200.1.

Can I add one or more zones to my annual travelcard?

It is possible to add zones. To do this, you must return your old travelcard and have a new one issued.
